Complete infrastructure suite from the ground up.
OpenSlate The Works

Built and managed the technology infrastructure for a team that grew from six employees to nearly one hundred and was ultimately acquired for $150 million. Designed and maintained the company’s telephony, email, web, file-sharing, and on-prem network infrastructure through multiple office relocations. Developed a custom software suite for collecting and analyzing video metadata from YouTube and Facebook, including a real-time bidding server written in C that monitored live advertising auctions across much of Google’s streaming-video ecosystem and a large-scale data-ingest system that processed metadata for billions of videos nightly. Also managed cloud infrastructure spanning dozens of servers, hundreds of disks, and thousands of services.

Massively scalable & standardized blogging platform.
Viacom Tooling

Created a custom centralized implementation of WordPress to unify dozens of separate blogs across as many Viacom brands and their international counterparts. Built robust tooling to handle deployment and customization of blog instances for each brand all while allowing security patches and version upgrades by avoiding any changes to WordPress core. The system scaled easily to millions of unique views per month by utilizing careful design that allowed for widespread caching through Akamai and extensive use of their ESI code.
